Have you ever been in the position on being in a conversation with someone maybe an individual on a personal level or with a business associate or with a company and they do listen to anything you are saying to them, or in fact not hear anything you have said to them. How many people in this world have the gift of having ears and not just one, but two but never use them to their full potential?
I have come across so many people who readily do not listen to what is being said to them, and they only hear the story in their head about the situation, and I have been contacted today by a client who asked the very question “what is the reason nobody listens to what I am saying to them”
So do you use your listening and hearing skills to their full potential?
If not then what is the reason for that?
The meanings are clear so what is the reason people choose not to use these profound skills? – is it because they are more visual than auditory? Or is it something to do with responsibility? maybe it is about them not paying attention in a way that is necessary in order to hear and listen to what is being said?
Listening is to pay attention, or take note.
Hearing – is paying attention, take notice of, be informed, be made aware, find out, gather information, understand, consider.
It is a real art and skill to be able to fully utilise the potential but not impossible, the meanings are self explanatory but the outcome appears to be somewhat lost in the fog.
If your skills are not as good as they could be then what are you going to do about that?
I will leave those questions with you, and Monday I will post 8 steps to increase your listening skills.
Until then enjoy your day, and enjoy life that is what it is there for.
