Healing and letting go

“Your wounds do not define you, but rather let them be the precious beacon of light to heal, transform and to ultimately lead you to expressing your authentic Self. Suffering is a signal that one is out of natural alignment, it need not be a way of life” – Dipali

I find this statement just so true and perfect and decided to share it with you. Through the coaching that I do it becomes very clear how much "baggage" people carry around with them, and as Dipali says "your wounds do not define you".

I studied the words closely and had many recal memories about my travels around Australia, as an aboriginal elder taught me something very similar.  We are all unique individuals, and we all have our own individual story, you can carry your story with you where ever it is you go in life.

You will also carry the scars of those stories, but then you have a choice about whether to continue to carry the emotional, mental or even physical pain of those stories around with you, or like Dipali describes allowing them to be that precious beacon of light to heal, transform and to ultimately lead you to expressing your authentic self.

That is such a beautiful way of utilising the "dead" energy that runs through the meridians, muscles and cells of the physical body. I know that the aborigines when they tell there story that there is little emotion involved, it is told as a part of who they are at an authentic level - they have released all other energies to the experience which is how they are able to tell the story without the pain that may have been attached. They have all the memories but no emotional attachment.

When I ask others "what is your story" just as the aborigines once asked me, I hear the whole 100% negative version of the story, and it still shocks me that so many people focus on the negative version of life instead of finding all the positives within the story, and trust me when I say despite how negative something appears to be or have been there will be a positive I truly mean it as I have lived a life as a human just like you are. I am no different to any other human in terms of what life may throw at me, I am very different to most people in how I deal or think about things though.

In order to get the best out of any story always head up the positive road, or if you begin on the negative road then ensure that you take your story onto the positive road, as the universe is a very clever tool and sends back to you the experience that is going to match your story. So the more you tell the "negative" version the more the universe is going to send you that version to experience.  And then people wonder why they keep experiencing the same "poop" in life.

It is called the law of attraction and I have written on that subject before so I am not going to go into depth on that part.

Your thoughts are your experiences, and so it takes a lot of self discipline and daily training to get the mind to think positive thoughts when there is so much negativity that "appears" to be surrounding people these days.

But one of my sayings is "that maybe so but it is not impossible".

So just for one day give yourself the opportunity to see the positive in everything that happens within your day, even if it is negative, find and look for the positive.

And also remember to give gratitude to everything including that which is negative, as without it you would not have been aware that there could be another version available to you.

Come on people start thinking outside that box you have created around yourself it is not protecting you, all it is doing is stopping you from getting access to your authentic self. And the only way that your authentic light can shine is if you stop putting the darkness around it through fear, control, negative thinking etc.

You true essence is waiting to get out - you will feel free and at peace when you do trust me I know, I have being consciously working on this for over 20 years of my life, and I am so pleased that I persevered even when the going got really tough.

And when the going gets tough that is the time to take REAL action, not stop. When the fear gets real strong it means you are so close to your authentic self and the truth.

Take a deep breath and continue through the veil of fear which is just False Evidence Appearing Real, it has no power only the power we give to it.

So enjoy life as you only get one chance.

Reiki - Earlswood Lake Therapies, Earlswood Lakes Craft Centre

A lot of people are still unaware of what Reiki is. So over the next couple of days I am going to be posting information about Reiki.

If you have any questions that you wish to have answered about reiki, it treatments, etc. then please email me at mia@miawilliams.com and I will post your answer.
In the meantime, here is some starter information about reiki.
Reiki
The Universal Life Force
Reiki is the Japanese word that alludes to the Universal life force, or spiritual energy that flows through your physical body and interconnects it with the psyche.
In different cultures it is variously referred to by such names as Chi, Prana or the Holy Spirit.
It is possible to focus on, manipulate and channel this energy to positively redress negative physical, mental, emotioank or spiritual processes.
Therefore, awareness and control of reiki provides you with the means of maintaining a harmonious balance in all aspects of your well being.
The Usui System of Reiki
A natural healing art.
Dr Mikao Usui, the principal of a Christian Seminary in Japan, developed this system in the last century.
Inspired and challenged by his students, Dr Usui undertook an exhaustive lifelong study into the healing phenomena of history's greatest spiritual leaders.
Through extensive travel research and meditation, he gradually uncovered insights into special healing techniques gathered from many religions over many centuries.
Enlightenment came when during deep meditation the keystone that locked all these diverse concepts together was revealed to him in the form of ancient sanskrit symbols.
Using these he was able to evolve the Usui system of healing.   He rediscovered the ancient knowledge of how to channel the healing effects of the Universal Life Force, or Reiki as he knew it. He then spent the rest of his life practising and teaching his evolved method of natural healing.
Today the Usui system of Reiki continues to be taught and practised by Reiki Masters like Mia Williams who practices in Earlswood, Solihull, Birmingham, West Midlands, who are trained in the original traditions of Reiki and who's personal and professional life are committed to advancing this precious art of physical and spiritual therapy and the life rewards which it yields.

What is the best way to reduce cortisol levels in the body?

Hi

I find that the quickest way to reduce cortisol levels in the body is Australian Bush Flower Essences. This will not only work instantly but also allows the body to become more stable so that the release of cortisol that may hit you on a daily basis is more controlled.

I do agree with a lot of the information said by others, that an overall view of nutriton, water intake and other triggers need to be looked for long term benefits.

Here is some more information on cortisol and it's effects on the body.

Cortisol is actually quiet important within the body, it is a hormone which is secreted by the adrenal gland, the following functions are just a few of it's functions:

Glucose metabolism
The regulation of blood pressure
Insulin for correct blood sugar maintenance
Immune system function
Inflammatory response

In general cortisol is present in the body in higher levels in the morning, and at its lowest at night. Cortisol is not released into the bloodstream just through stress-related issues, it is termed the “stress hormone” and is due to the fact that is secreted in higher levels during the body's fight or flight response to stress, and is responsible for quite a few stress-related changed in the body. A small amount of cortisol increase is beneficial and have some positive effects:

A burst of energy for survival reasons
Increasing memory functions
Lowering sensitivity to pain
A quick boost to the immune system
Assists with maintaining homeostasis in the body

Although cortisol plays an important role within the body's response to stress, it is also important that the body's relaxation response is then activated to ensure that the body's functions may return to normal following a stress-related issue or experience.

Due to the high levels of stress that we experience on a daily basis these day the body's response to activate this hormone is done so often that it has little time to return to normal before it has to respond again, this over activation results in a state of chronic stress.

The higher and more prolonged the levels of cortisol are in the bloodstream the more negative effects show up, this can include:

Increased blood pressure
Lowered immune system
Slower healing response
Impaired cognitive performance
Suppressed thryoid function
Blood sugar imbalances
Lower bone density
Decreased muscle tissue
Increased abdominal fat, which is then associated to heart attacks, strokes etc.

In order to keep the cortisol levels healthy and balanced, it is best to ensure that the body's relaxation response be activated as soon as possible after a flight or fight response has occurred.

There are many stress management techniques which assist with the lowering of cortisol, making lifestyle changes that will support your body having a reaction to any stress in the first instance.

The following are a few areas that are said to assist with helping the body and mind relax to a level that is positive in maintaining healthy cortisol levels:

Keeping a journal
Breathing exercises
Meditation
Self hypnosis
Exercise
Yoga/Tai chi/Quigong
Relaxation music
Sex

Some people can secrete higher cortisol levels than another in the same situation, every individual is different, and everybody manages their stress levels differently.

If you difficulty in relaxing on any level, this is an indicator that the cortisol levels within the body are raised, as mentioned previously when left “uncontrolled” it has a negative overall effect of the body's functions.

Earlswood Lake Therapies - Questionboard

So this is today's question from a client:

tonyg asked:
I suffer with ear wax build up, do i need to put oil drops in before candle treatment?

No definitely not, the purpose of ear candling is to allow the gentle chimney effect which is created through the burning of the candle to do the work, releasing any wax build up that may have occurred.

More than one treatment of Hopi Ear Candles may be required depending on the level of build up in the ears.

Below is some more information for you:

What is Hopi Ear Candling?

Also known as Thermo Auricular Therapy, which is an ancient form of therapy that has been practised by people worldwide.  It's name is derived from the Hopi Indians of North Arizona and its meaning is 'peaceful people'.

Hopi Ear Candling is a very safe and therapeutic therapy, with many benefits.

Contra indications for Hopi Ear Candling

Although many can be treated with Hopi Ear Candles there are a few cases where they should not be used, these are known as Contra Indications.  For Ear Candling they are as follows:
  • Ear infections
  • Any inflammation of the ear
  • Any surgery within the last 3 months
  • Lack of ear drum
  • Perforation of the ear drum
  • Grommets, drains or ventilation tubes fitted
  • Auricular cysts
  • Any known allergies to candle wax
If you do not have any or suffer from any of the above conditions then there is no reason that you should not have Hopi Ear Candling.  The number of treatment required does depend on a number of factors which include:  the age of the person, the length of time they have had the condition, and what condition the person is suffering from.

In general the older the person and the longer they have had the condition for the more treatments tend to be required before there is a noticeable improvement, and some conditions are much more treatable than others.

For a problem that may have come on suddenly, for examole, a cold or blocked nose, it is safe to have treatments up to twice a day for the first 2 days and then 3 or 4 over the next 10 days.

Long terms issues, such as hearing loss or tinnitus, treatments can be given 3 times in the first week, twice in the second week and one in the third week.

A Hopi Ear Candling treatment can be used as a prevention for further issues occurring.

What are the benefits of  Hopi Ear Candling?

There are many benefits to having Hopi Ear Candling and a variety of conditions that can be treated effectively some of these include:
  • Tinnitus
  • Glue Ear
  • Sinusitus
  • General hearing loss
  • Excessive ear wax build up
  • Hayfever and rhinitus
  • Colds
  • Tension headaches
  • Meniere's disease
  • Travel sickness
There is no scientific evidence that Hopi Ear Candling can "cure" any of these conditions however, there are a growing number of people who claim that the treatment has been a positive benefit to their issue.

Children may have this treatment providing they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and they do not have any of the contra indications mentioned above.

What is the process of Hopi Ear Candling?

The client lies on a couch (no de-robing nessecary) on their side, and the actual ear candle process involves using a specially designed hollow candle which is inserted gently but firmly into the ear canal. The candle is then lit and the candle then acts like a chimney drawing out the impurities from within the ear area. Because of the rising air within the ear canal the ear drum gets a gentle massage which also assists with regulating ear pressure.

What to Expect During a Hopi Ear Candling Treatment

The therapist will carry out a full consultation with you asking a number of questions regarding any issues that you or the child may be having with the ears.  The consultation is required not only for Insurance purposes but also to ensure that Hopi Ear Candling is a safe treatment for you or the child to have.

You will be placed in a comfortable position on a couch laying down on your side. The Hopi Ear Candle will be lit and placed gently but firmly just inside the ear canal.  The candle will be held in place by the therapist - the candle is made in a way that ensures the ash does not fall onto the client during the treatment.

You may experience a fire crackling sound as the candle burns or maybe some popping in the ear, but not painful. It is a very relaxing experience.

When the candle has burned down to the pre marked safe area it is gently and carefully removed from the ear and extunguished, the entire process is repeated on the other ear.

Once both ears have been treated you will be left to relax for a few minutes before receiving a soothing sinus or auricalar massage, although this part is down to the individual therapists.

The Mercury retrograde influence on Earlswood lake therapies

So with Mercury going retrograde until 23rd April, it has been an interesting time so far watching it do it's thing, which is giving everyone the opportunity to re-think re-look etc. at things from the past which gives you the opportunity of achieving a different outcome.  It is also said that you should never buy large items especially electrical as there are likely to be problems with them.

For me with all the plans for the therapy room in full swing, it has been interesting to watch Mercury at work, there is no way that I could avoid doing things which I would never normally do on a mercury retrograde, but with ordering stock, and furniture etc. I have really had to ensure that I am cautious about what I am buying etc.

And still despite my caution I have had to return some items, and I am now praying that the printing is okay will not know that until it arrives. But hey these things do take time to get ordered and delivered so there is no way I could leave them till the last minute.

Then there are the things which involved me getting back in touch with someone who could do the woodwork side of things for me, and at first that turned out to be a disaster, but today turned around on itself and came good, so thanks to the other planets which are influencing my sign at the moment things that are going a little astray are actually coming back round to my advantage.  Thank goodness.

So never underestimate the power of the planets and how they influence our actions and our lives.

Things are really looking good for the therapy room opening so check out the deals here:
